Rockville, MD – The Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation (MCCCF) is pleased to recognize Mike Sanders, MCCCF Board Member, former U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal and current CEO/owner of Interactive Government Holdings (IGH), as a featured Veteran Success Story as part of the SBA’s National Veterans Small Business Week (October 30 – November 3, 2017). Mr. Sanders is a graduate of the MCCCF National Center for Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP). His story is featured as part of the Moments that Matter campaign. Mr. Sanders completed the 2013 VIP Grow program. IGH is listed as #36 on the 2017 Inc. 5000 List (up from 49 in 2015) which ranks the fastest growing private companies and highlights the greatest entrepreneurs in America each year. Mr. Sanders credits his participation in the VIP program with his ability to manage this tremendous growth. In addition, over 70% of IGH’s workforce is made up of veterans and members of the National Guard. SBA’s week-long campaign highlights the many ways the U.S. Small Business Administration supports business owners, including veterans, members of the Reserve and Guard, military spouses and U.S. service members transitioning from active duty to civilian life. SBA also plays a critical role in disaster relief. The VIP program is a recipient of a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration to strengthen veteran and service-disabled veteran owned firms that want to compete for, and win, federal contracts. To date, there are 922 graduates from 45 states plus D.C. and Guam. Graduates attain an average of 54% increase in revenue post-VIP graduation according to recurring surveys of graduates.
