Dusty Rood, Chair of the Board, to Set Agenda for Montgomery County (Md) Business Community through Annual Board Retreat Rockville, MD – On Monday, July 17, 2017, New Chair of the Board of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Dusty Rood, President & CEO, Rodgers Consulting will speak to the MCCC Board of Directors at their Annual Board Retreat. Maryland Secretary of Commerce Mike Gill will also attend, talking to the group about how business can better the community. The year in review, provided by President and CEO Georgette “Gigi” Godwin, will present the Board with the Chambers’ widely celebrated success. As the #2 ranked Chamber of Commerce for the second year in a row, MCCC is ready for the year ahead with Rood’s new leadership. Sentiments from MCCC’s 58th Annual Dinner, where Rood spoke to his commitment to good advocacy, community, and economy for the business world, is expected at the Board Retreat. “We have the vision, certainly the energy and definitely the power to shape a future we have yet to imagine,” he declared. The new Chair’s leadership is seen as a forceful new presence in the Chamber. With goals of regional stability and growth, an increase in Chamber membership, impactful business advocacy, and community enhancement, Rood is eager to begin. Norman Augustine, Retired Chairman and CEO, Lockheed Martin Corporation, received the Business Advocate of the Year award at the Annual Dinner, proclaiming a line not likely forgotten at the Board Retreat. The inspiring leader decreed: “You cannot be for jobs and against employers.” Augustine urged legislators to create policy for better business and community for people who want to work and live in Montgomery County.
