Montgomery County to weigh more stringent energy standards for some new construction (Washington Business Journal)

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce had opposed state-level legislation in the same vein as Riemer's bill "due to its high costs to businesses and consumers," Brian Levine, the chamber's vice president of government affairs, told the Washington Business Journal. The chamber would encourage the county to study whether the existing grid has sufficient capacity for an all-electric building stock, he added.
