FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 22, 2019 Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Public Safety Community at the 45th Annual Public Safety Awards Luncheon ROCKVILLE, MD: On Friday, March 15, 2019, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce will host its 45th Annual Public Safety Awards Luncheon. This is the largest valor event of its kind in the region. The event takes place from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the newly renovated Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and County Conference Center. This year’s awardees include: Forensic Medical Unit Nursing Team at Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove Medical Center Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) Baltimore Division American Legion Department of Maryland. Valor, Unit Citations, and Community Service Awards (Announced live at the event) The Forensic Medical Unit Nursing Team at Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove Medical Center is the winner of this year’s Public Safety Corporate Vital Link Award, presented by TD Bank. This award recognizes a commercial enterprise that transforms and advances the mission of public safety agencies in Montgomery County, Maryland to meet the 21st Century challenges that impact the National Capital Region. ATF Baltimore is this year’s Public Safety Government Partner of the Year. This award is presented by Motorola Solutions. This award recognizes a federal, state, or other governmental agency that strengthens Montgomery County public safety agencies through outstanding leadership and collaboration to ensure a positive and integrated response to challenges that impact the National Capital Region. This year, the Public Safety Champion of the Year is the American Legion Department of Maryland. This award recognizes an organization or individual who advances the mission of public safety agencies in Montgomery County through their advocacy. The Chair of the 45th Annual Public Safety Awards Luncheon is Steven A. Robins, Esq., Managing Partner at Lerch, Early & Brewer Chtd. This will be the 19th year of Mr. Robins’ chairmanship of this powerful valor awards ceremony. The emcees for this year’s event are Leon Harris, News4 Washington Anchor, and Doug Kammerer, StormTeam4 Chief Meteorologist.
